Odorant & Everything

So Ammon is 7 now and does the whole bath thing all by himself...

He comes out the other night after quite a lengthy soak and is

smelling good and looking handsome. He proceeds to tell me his beauty

regiment of putting gel in his hair, brushing his teeth, dad's best cologne,

THE WORKS... " I even put odorant on Mom ".

But the best part is I smell this very distinct smell on him, somewhat like

my $30 / bottle salon shampoo...

(Which I've had since '05 since I'm too cheap

to use.. ) "Ammon, what else did you put on?" I asked...

"Oh, I forgot, I also found this great lotion underneath the counter in the bathroom... I put it all over my body." I didn't have the heart to tell him...

If you look closely you can still see it lathered on his arms..

I Believe in Angels

So Carly had a rough night last night... She has always been such a good sleeper so it was very unusual for me to awaken to her in my bed last night... crying. I comforted her and rolled over to go back to sleep, a few minutes later I turned around to check on her, she hadn't moved so I assumed she was back asleep.. She was laying there eyes wide open and scared, when I asked what was wrong she replied, " I'm afraid I'm going to get lost " it just broke my heart, she was obviously having bad dreams and was very scared.

I said a prayer with her and she very quickly fell back asleep. This morning she awakens and looks at me smiling, the first words out of her mouth were " The angels helped me fall asleep ", "Really?" I inquired, "Did you see them?" (I was being kind of tounge in cheek at this point). "Yes" she answered. "In my heart"...

Ice Fishing on Jordanelle

Dad took us ice fishing for the day, we didn't catch a sinlge fish, but still had fun!!

We think that Kate's eyes were frozen shut by this point...

Carly sat long enough for a photo op..., and some hot chocolate...

But at least we broke in her new "princess" fishing pole she requested for Christmas.. It was a good day..

When I Fall in Love....

We would go Beach Hopping by day and out to dinner at night, our most memorable dinner was at a little local Bahamian restaurant owned by the cutest old man... I asked him if anyone had ever told him that he sounds exactly like Morgan Freeman? He smiled and replied, "All the time." Moments later he reappeared and asked if he could sing for us!! In front of the whole restaurant he softly started to sing "When I Fall in Love" by Nat King Cole. Talk about romantic, he had the most beautiful voice, turns out he used to be a professional singer.. It was like straight out of a movie... So needless to say Matt and I both found ourselves humming the tune the whole rest of the trip.. It's good after ten years to find a new song...

Our last night on the island we splurged for a romantic sunset sailboat cruise on the ocean. It was the perfect end to the perfect trip...

Bahamas - 10Year Anniversary

We took this shot from our hotel balcony, upon emailing it home Ammon exclaimed, " Well I want to go now, I didn't know that it was going to be THAT NICE"... Sorry Ammon, maybe next time.

First day on the beach, we edited most of our "BEACH" photos, unfortunatley most of them appear as if they're "Before" shots of a diet program..

July 24th, 1998 Matt proposed to me at the ocean in Alaska... Flash forward ten years and there we were at a secluded beach in the Bahamas.. It took a forty-five minute Dumb & Dumber Scooter ride to get there, but it was all worth it when we arrived and found our selves to be alone... for the entire day. It was definelty the highlight of our vacation and the way the Bahamas are meant to be seen. We loved walking up an down the beach, made me remember why I said yes ten years ago...

Carly's Fourth Birthday- January 11th, 2009

6:30 in the morning... Carly crawls in to bed and whispers... "Guess what? I'm not three anymore..." Dad had to go to work that morning, so we figured what the heck and sang Happy Birthday early. Chocolate Cake for breakfast.. the perfect start to a great birthday.. Happy Birthday Carly
